I am a pretty simple person who prefers simple things and as such, I tend to be drawn to straightforward shapes. I also enjoy the technical challenges involved with demarcating a crisp curve within a grid so I tend to focus on circles and ovals when playing with simple shapes.

Time is slippery for me; I have never been one of those people who can pin down exactly how long ago something happened. For about 20 years ago now I have been printing simple calendars most months in an attempt to get more of a grasp on time and its passage.

Most of the pieces in this series are abstracted calendars that commemorate some significant event in my life or in the wider world. Most of them came about because I couldn’t stop thinking about whatever it was and needed to talk about it without having to use words.
